A solidarity visit by the executive committee of PCP to the affected Congregations of Jaranwala

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian church of Pakistan supported 140 families after the Jaranwala incident. Three Presbyterian Congregations were badly affected and their church buildings were also burnt completely. The Moderator, officers and Pastors of the Presbyterian Church of Pakistan served the affected people shoulder to shoulder with other denominations and NGOs. Our emergency response teams reached Jaranwala on the very next day of the incident and started relief work. Presbyterian Church of Pakistan conducted a survey of the loss and damages of the affected Christian families on the very next day of the incident. They served food, arranged medical camps, distributed house hold stuff and clothes among affected families. The Moderator Rev. Reuben Qamar, Vice Moderator Elder Samuel Mukhtar, Executive secretary Rev. Obaid Khokhar, General Secretary Rev. Sharaz Sharif Alam, Treasurer Rev. Samuel Titus, and Youth director Rev. Amir AD visited jaranwala on regular bases, spent time with the affectees and had Sunday worship with them. The entire executive committee members and Pastors from different presbyteries gathered at Jaranwala to show the solidarity to the affected Presbyterian Congregations on 7th September 2023. We hold a special worship service there to strengthen and comfort the affected people. The service was conducted by Rev. Emric Joseph (Pastor of Presbyterian Church Faisalabad) and Rev. Samuel Titus (Pastor of St. Paul’s church Rawalpindi). Moderator Presbyterian Church of Pakistan Rev. Reuben Qamar Preached from 1- Peter 1:6-9 on “The reward of a Tested Faith”. Rev. Obaid Khokhar conducted the Love gift distribution program. We distributed Rs.1,400,000/PKR to 140 affected families of Jaranwala. Presbyterian Church of Pakistan has also pledged to support the local Presbyterian Pastor on regular bases. Rev. Rizwan being a loyal servant of Lord and part of PCP thanked Presbyterian Pastors and congregations to stand with him. Moderator PCP thanked all the moderators, pastors and representatives of the congregations for their visit and generous support towards the persecuted Churches at jaranwala. Pastors from different congregation also shared their views and assured the local Christian community that Presbyterian Church will stand with them throughout this difficult time.
